The University Club of New York, which you can find at 54th street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan has a history that dates back to early 1861, when it was founded by a group of youthful college friends who were trying to expand their collegiate ties decided to found the club. Today, the club has no affiliations with any college.

The University Club can easily host a wedding reception within their facilities. They have three different banquet rooms to choose from to meet or exceed the specific needs of your wedding reception. The rooms that are available to have a reception party held in are:

• The Dwight Room- the Dwight Room is able to offer to small wedding parties a congenial atmosphere, with seating for up to 160 guests. Your reception will be just perfect in this elegant wood paneled room, and for cocktails guests can enjoy their libations in the Dwight Lounge just off the Dwight Room.
• College Hall Ballroom-This room has seating for 100-170 people and is spacious enough to enjoy an elegant dinner and also enjoying dancing throughout the evening. Also adjacent to the ballroom is the Dwight Lounge and neighboring Dwight Room, which may be used for a cocktail reception if so desired.
• Main Dining Room- This room, which is on the seventh floor of the club, has seating for up to 340 guests, with the adjoining Council Room there is more than enough space for many wedding reception parties. This room is recognized for its unmatched architectural features, and offers direct access to the newly revitalized outdoor terrace.

The Club offers a Wedding Reception menu that includes dinning fare such as:

• Hors D’oeuvres – Lobster Salad Barquette, Caviar Blini, and Bruschetta with Tapenade.
• Appetizers- Bistro Salad, Chilled Strawberry Soup, Lobster Bisque and Trio of Smoked Salmon & Caviar.
• Entrees- Breast of Pheasant stuffed with Foie Gras, Dry-Aged Sirloin Steak in Natural Jus, and Roasted Cornish Hen, Porcini & Apricot Stuffing.
