We are very excited to kick off the start of the 2014 wedding season after the long and brutal winter season we had in New York. And I couldn’t have asked for better company to start this new season with. Working with Ally + Tim has been a great pleasure! We had to reschedule several times due to weather and other conflicts, but their patience in finding a good date for their engagement session really paid off. This past weekend gave us a real glimpse of the spring season to come, with warm temperatures nearing 60 and a fresh spring breeze. We started our photo session at Tim’s home located in Mill Neck, which had a backyard with an amazing view overlooking the Mill Neck Creek. It is a truly comfortable and beautiful place to warm up to a photo session.
For our second location, Ally + Tim chose the Planting Field Arboretum, a historic park located in the town Oyster Bay Long Island, which has over 400 acres of beautiful grounds and historic builds for us to explore. This was the first time any of us have visited this fantastic location and you can only imagine how we were easily lost in all the beauty this park has to offer. One of the main attractions from this park (and one of my favorites) is Coe Hall, a historic building with tall arches and beautiful stone walls giving it a traditional castle-like feeling.
During our entire engagement session, we had great conversations about traveling, foods and other great activities and hobbies. I always find that getting to know couples more before and during a shoot helps relax and bring out more natural expressions, allowing me to capture each couple’s genuine love story. Thanks Ally + Tim for recommending a great documentary film, we enjoyed watching it and can’t wait to hear more about your travel and food recommendations!
