Central Park Engagement photos | Jenny + Rong

New York City is known for its many great locations and one of our favorite parks to visit is Central Park. With over 778 acres of beautiful land, there are breathtaking sights and hidden gems at very turn. Our friends, Jenny + Rong, had suggested that they would like to have their engagement session at Central Park. Our first attempt for the engagement session didn’t work out as we planned. The minute we arrived and parked our car and started to walk our way into Central Park, it started to rain heavily. But, I always believe that things happen for a good reason. Jenny + Rong agreed to reschedule the photo shoot for the next day and we all agreed to get up as early as 4:00am to head out to Central Park to resume the engagement session. I cannot begin to explain what a perfect idea that was. These pictures speak for themselves. At 4:30am in the morning, Central Park was completely empty. With the sky just beginning to light and the morning dew settling all around, it was the most peaceful and serene engagement shoot I ever had the pleasure of capturing. It was also by far the earliest shoot I ever had, but definitely worth every moment of it. Jenny + Rong, congratulations to you both again and thanks for being such an awesome couple – it’s not everyday that one can wake up that early in the morning for a photo shoot and have such a great attitude about it.

Central Park Engagement Photos | Carmen + Kenny

Let me start off by introducing this wonderful couple, Carmen + Kenny. We had a fun time spending the afternoon in Central Park and then headed over to TriBeca for a change of scenery. They made such a beautiful and happy couple together, as is obvious from the smiles in every picture. I enjoyed spending the afternoon learning a little more about Carmen + Kenny, hearing about where they’re from and how they met.

For Carmen + Kenny, who started dating 4 years ago, this is the beginning of a wonderful journey! They will be getting married at Sonoma Valley later this year followed by a honeymoon in Tahiti. Congratulations again and best wishes for happiness and special memories for years to come.

Gantry State Park Engagement Photos | Aneri + Darren

It’s not every day that I photograph two individuals who are so perfectly in sync with each other. I was thrilled when I found that connection between Darren and Aneri. They have a love that is so pure and touching, and I was really excited to get out and photograph them for their engagement session. We selected two New York locations; Central Park and the beautiful Gantry State Park in Long Island City. It was a wonderful July day for a photo shoot and I was looking forward to capturing their love on film.

The first part of the session was in Manhattan’s Central Park where we took advantage of the shade from the trees and bridges. The couple wanted to focus on tradition and their heritage. Aneri is of Indian decent and it was important to the couple that they took the time to honor her background by wearing some amazing traditional Indian clothing. The bright colors of the clothing focused the attention on the couple as Central Park provided a beautiful rustic look as a backdrop. The beauty of the Indian culture and Aneri’s background in ballet really allowed us to capture some fantastic and unique images that showcase the couples cultures. She loves to pose, which helped make this session unique. One of the favorite photos of the day is a silhouette of Aneri and Darren under a central park bridge where she is showcase a beautiful pose. Darren is actually not Indian but rather Chinese although, he did take part in wearing the Indian garment very well. The bright red added an amazing pop to the images, as you can see below.

The engagement shoot then moved to Gantry State Park in Long Island City where Aneri changed into a great white dress and Darren donned a fantastic tan suit. The couple looked exquisite and we were excited to continue the session. With the New York City skyline as the background we were able to get some great shoots of the couple with midtown Manhattan right behind them. Darren and Aneri were very playful with each other, letting their guard down to capture the realness of their relationship. This amazing couple had a lot of fun with each other and had many tender moments that I was able to capture. The couples love and admiration for each other is apparent and came through on the images. All in all the day went great and the photos are the perfect blend of tradition and modern sophistication.

I want to wish the best of luck to Aneri and Darren. It was a terrific day working on your engagement session. You are two very wonderful people and I am thrilled to have had the chance to work with you. Your love is pure and your wedding day is sure to be fantastic in Canada.
