I don’t believe there’s a better way to ring in the new year other than professing your love and declaring your “I DO’s” in front of all your close family and friends. And I had the pleasure of capturing this very moment.

The celebration of Carol and Tony’s wedding was a great way to begin the 2011 wedding season. With a snowstorm in NYC every week since Christmas, this winter wedding was snow-packed and well below zero degrees. The bridal party donned on their coat and boots and braced themselves for the coldest day of the year. But nothing in the world would have affected anything set to happen on this magical day. All the heart-warming love and wishes amongst the group made their photo shoot fun and enjoyable.

Over the past few months, I’ve had chance to work closely with Carol and Tony during their engagement and bridal session. It seems like it was just yesterday when we started making plans for their big day. It was really enjoyable to work with Carol and Tony. With two very different personalities, they had very unique styles which made them fun to work with. But they do say opposites attract for a reason, and that was very evident when shooting pictures of them together. Their pictures really portray their strong connection to each other.

Carol and Tony expressed their love for each other in front of over 400 guests at East Manor in Queens, NY. Carol looked
absolutely stunning on her special day. Her wedding dress – the Lia, by Augusta Jones, had hand-cut flowers cascading along the shoulder strap and down the back, which complemented her beautifully. Tony looked absolutely speechless and in love as he waited for her in front of the altar. It was a beautiful moment that will mark the beginning of their lives together forever.

Old Westbury Garden Wedding Photos | Carol + Tony

As their wedding day approaches, we decided to setup up a photo shoot for Tony and Carol in addition to their engagement session we had a couple of weeks ago. Set in the middle of Old Westbury, Long Island, we arrive at Old Westbury Gardens. We began our photo shoot indoors where we were surrounded by the beautiful decor of the Old Westbury house and then moved on to the lush beauty of the green acres around the estate. Although this was only a bridal portrait session, Tony had a sneak peak of what his beautiful bride will look like on their wedding day. Carol was wearing a beautiful wedding dress that was designed exclusively by Lotus Bridal.

Only a few more months to go until the special day where all this magic becomes real!

Battery Park Engagement Photos | Carol + Tony

When Carol and Tony first told me they didn’t have too many pictures together and that one of the reasons they were looking for an engagement session was to add to their collection, I was thrilled. Yes, an engagement session is a great way to tell friends and family about the engagement. It is also a great opportunity for couples to work with the photographer before the wedding date. But best of all, it’s another memory for couples to enjoy forever. It’s all a part of our everyday relationships – spending time with one another, a day out in the city, having fun in the sun, and sharing smiles and laughs. And this is exactly what Carol and Tony did.

We started our shoot around the lower west side to catch the beautiful sunset. We walked through the west side and spent the rest of the day at Battery Park. Carol and Tony hung out by the pier, strolled along the water, stretched out on the grass, cuddled on the bench, and kept cool with the help of some mint tea from Organicoa. I hope you had as much fun enjoying the day as we did!

Once again, congratulations and thank you guys for the delicious Japanese food! I can’t wait till your wedding in January!
